ECLIPSE (Excellence from Coaching in Literacy Preparation in Special Education) 2020-2024

  • This NMPED federally funded project partners with the Office of Special Education, Rec #7, PRO, and Thrive. Its focus is to support reading instruction for K-3 students with disabilities in rural NM classrooms.CORE was contracted to provide regional professional development that included topics such as:

  • Intensive Reading Interventions

  • Using Data to Set Attainable Goals

  • Useful Assessment Tools for Instructions

  • Language Development for Multilingual Students

  • Oral Language Development

  • Leveraging Our Storytelling Culture

  • Culturally Responsive Teaching

  • Addressing Language Needs for Students with Disabilities

  • Interactive use of Content and Language Objectives

  • Comprehensible Input Strategies

  • CORE provides hybrid instructional coaching for inclusion teachers and Special Education Teachers such as:

  • Collaborate with teachers weekly via Zoom to co- Teach, analyze data, observe, and provide feedback.

  • Collaborate with teachers monthly to co-teach, model lessons, analyze data, observe, and provide feedback.

  • Describe in detail the experience, competence, expertise, and reliability the firm possesses in providing support services - professional learning for English Learner (EL) students.

RAMS (Reading And Math Support) 2018-2020

  • This NMPED Federally funded project was a continuation of the RDA project with a greater focus on tiered interventions and using data for teaching and learning

    • CORE was contracted to provide regional professional development that included topics such as:

      • Intensive Interventions in Reading and Math

      • Formative Assessment

      • SIOP

      • Small Group Instruction

      • Using Technology for Language Support

      • Video Coaching

      • Collaborative Practices

      • Leadership Coaching

      • Using ACCESS Scores for Planning

  • CORE also hosted a series of webinars to improve instruction and to support communication between all stakeholders

Math Tutor

RDA (Results Driven Accountability) 2016-2018

  • This federally funded NMPED project was a collaboration between Regional Cooperative #6 and #7, NMPED Title 1, PRO, and CORE NMSU. It focused on providing Tiered Systemic Support for over 88 schools and 37 Districts.

    • CORE was contracted to provide regional professional development that included topics such as

      • Using Data to Inform Instruction

      • Student Engagement Strategies for Language Development

      • SEL Classroom Structures for Lowering the Affective Filter

      • Questioning Strategies

      • Academic Interventions

      • Leadership Academy

      • Content and Language Objectives

      • Total Participation Techniques

      • Readers' Theater for Writing

  • CORE also provided all RDA schools with math and reading instructional and leadership coaching. 

  • CORE collaborated with the entire RDA to provide a large end-of-summer RDA Conference in Albuquerque, NM, for all schools and their school teams. Multiple sessions on various teaching and learning topics and planning time were hosted.

  • CORE was also part of school walk-throughs and feedback conversations with schools.

ASSETS (2014-2016)

  • This NMPED Federally funded project focused on supporting NM schools with the state’s lowest mathematics and reading proficiency scores.

    • CORE was contracted to provide regional professional development that included topics such as;

      • Unpacking the Common Core State Standards

      • Backwards Planning and Implementation

      • Sheltered Instruction Operations Protocol Training

      • Unpacking and applying the WIDA language standard for ELL’s

      • Making Language Comprehensible in Inclusion Classrooms

  • CORE also provided math and reading instructional coaching for 24 ASSETS schools in over ten districts.

  • CORE collaborated with Regional Cooperative #6 and #7 to provide school feedback through walk-throughs and discussions.
