Pre K-12 Instructional Reading Coach

Description: 

New Mexico State University CORE (Collaborating for Outstanding Readiness in Education) is looking for experienced Pre K-12 Reading Instructional Coaches who are passionate about coaching in schools with teachers throughout the state of New Mexico. Contractors must be willing to travel to rural districts across the state and have experience working with Native American and rural populations.  Experience in Instructional Coaching in Reading, Interventions and/or Special Education is required.

 

Provide a detailed description of relevant experience in instruction in the identified categories.  List all relevant experience in working with K-12 teachers.  Identify all significant consulting experience you have working in instruction in K-12 environment with relevant experience in K-3 classrooms.  Describe experience in delivering professional development in K-12 schools.

 

As a contractor, you are required to provide strategies, knowledge and practices that improve instruction in English Language Arts (ELA), PBIS, intervention and special education strategies for Kindergarten through 3rd grade teachers through on-site and follow up online support and/or virtual coaching.

 

All schools require two (2) coaching days each month for nine (9) months and four

(4) hours of technical support per school each month, contract ending on June 30, 2024.

 

Contractors are needed in the following New Mexico school districts:

Central Consolidated Schools

Clovis Municipal Schools

Gallup McKinley County Schools

Santa Fe Public Schools

Hourly Rate: $60 per hour for Coaching hours

$40 per hour for Technical hours

Hours: 14 coaching hours per month and 4 technical hours per month

Employment Type: Contract

Requirements: Coaching is done in a hybrid fashion. Coaching is done as a combination of in-person and on-site. For this reason, travel to rural districts across New Mexico is required.
